Sources of Recruit Leads
Now that you are ready to start recruiting you may be wondering where you are going to start looking to get these recruits. We’ll don’t worry. We have complied a few ideas to help get you started on the right foot.
Parties, Events or Live Shows
One of the easiest places you will find recruits is when you conduct home parties, host an event or a Live Show. This is because these people are able to see first-hand what you do and how well you do it.
Your Hostess (online or in-home)
Your hostess can be your recruit! She has already shown that she likes our products enough to let us show them to her friends. She enjoys getting products free or discounted. This is your perfect opportunity to share your enthusiasm for your business. In your hostess packet, make sure you have included information about becoming a Carolina Country Bling affiliate. Ask her if she would like to earn a little extra money or completely replace her full time job. She will let you know if she’s interested or not, if she says no, make sure you don’t pressure her. Not everyone is open to the idea and you want to make sure you can be professional and accept her NO as a solid no. Give it a try though, you won’t know until you ask!
Your Guests/Customers
The number one place to talk about your business and to find potential recruits is at your shows or events! The guests/customers at your shows or events have already shown an interest by attending. Further interest is shown by purchasing! Make sure you plant seeds throughout the party, show or event by making statements such as:
- Oh, I can’t believe I’m getting paid to have this much fun.
- If you love our products, you can get a substantial discount by selling!
- Every show is different, there’s nothing boring about this job!
- You get paid upfront! No need to wait on commission. When you sell on hand inventory, you gain cash in your pocket.
People give off ‘green flags’ of interest that you should look for before approaching them about the business. Look for saying such as:
- Do you make much money doing this?
- I used to do ‘A Party Plan’ and didn’t make much money.
- I hate my job!
- I am so sick of paying daycare!
- You look like you’re having so much fun!
- Is it hard to do this?
Around Town
Advertising through flyers and business cards is an excellent way to get your name seen! If people don’t have your phone number, they can’t call you! If they don't have your website, they can't shop! Make sure they can get it this information! Here are some places that you can approach for free advertising:
- Hair Salons, Gyms, Grocery Stores, Spas, Restaurants, Bars, Concert Venues
- Bulletin Boards or any business that has a ‘community corner’.
- Trade shows, flea markets, bridal expos.
- Personal Contact: Waitress, Bank Teller, Hair Stylist, Nail Tech, Post Office, Etc.!
- Attend other ‘home party’ shows. When appropriate, ask the representative if she/he’d like to trade business cards. Networking is crucial!
Be creative! Soon, you will find that handing out your business card is like second nature. If you’re worried about offending someone, don’t be. Handing someone your business card is simply giving the ‘go-ahead’ to investigate more and ask questions. If they don’t want to; they won’t! A simple, ‘Here’s my card, call me if you’re interested’ can work wonders!
Referrals and Word of Mouth
Your best advertising comes from happy customers, good friends and family. Make sure that you give these people extra business cards or fliers to give to their friends and family. Consider starting a referral program and always make sure to ask where someone got your card or website link. Thank the person who gave it to them and then get them more cards!
